How Often Should You Change Your Oil?

Even if you don’t drive your car often, your oil needs to be changed at least once a year even if you’ve only driven 1,000 miles or less.  An oil change will save you money on much bigger engine problems down the road. A general rule for oil maintenance is broken down by the oil type used: 

·       Modern Water Cooled Porsches: Full Synthetic Euro Spec 0w-40 oil such as Castrol, once per year OR every 6,000 miles.

·       Vintage Air Cooled Porsches : Semi Synthetic Blend 20w-50 oil with High Zinc Content such as Penn Grade, once per year OR every 3,000 miles.
